Website Links
The Links page of the Living In Cornwall website, is intended as a directory
and will refer to anything and everything, which, generally, I have
had first hand experience of, could be of interest or provide useful
information. I don't intend to use it for comment or as a critique,
just to help anyone hoping to live in Cornwall either permanently or
for a holiday. The links below are unpaid for.

Restaurants
This is a cross-section of some of the places we have eaten; there are
so many terrific places in the county that I couldn't list them all.
THE OLIVE GROVE at Perranarworthal, is
set in the beautiful grounds of Cornish Garden Nurseries. A very special,
relaxed and pretty cafe bistro offering gluten and diary free options.
This flexible venue is great for tapas evenings to gorgeously gooey cakes
and weddings to parties.

GREENHOUSE RESTAURANT. This simple, small
cafe/bistro in St. Keverne provides well cooked, modern, rustic food
with an ambience more reminiscent of a Continental cafe Check out the
SPECIALS nights.

SEADRIFT KITCHEN CAFE is a stone's throw
from Porthleven harbour and is popular with both visitors and locals.
The fish is so fresh it almost jumps from the fishing boat into your
plate! Coastal chic meets relaxed diner and dogs are welcome.

FIFTEEN - CORNWALL - Watergate Bay. Lovely
food in a stunning location at Watergate Bay near Newquay, founded by
Jamie Oliver the restaurant offers an innovative menu of the best seasonal
and local produce, prepared by talented young chefs. Read more about
our visit and see pictures on this page.

THE SHIP INN - Mawgan, Nr. Helston. I
can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. Casual, informal, in an
old Cornish pub with food 'to die for' cooked lovingly by award winning
chef Greg Laskey. A warm welcome from Allison and the staff, the menu
is small but exciting (the best double baked cheese souffle you're ever
likely to eat). Tel. 01326 221240

THE BAY Restaurant- Hotel Penzance. I
wouldn't usually recommend a restaurant in a hotel, however, The Bay
in Hotel Penzance ticks the boxes for a special occasion. Inside it's
light, airy and modern in a comfortable way with fabulous views across
the town and Mounts Bay. We had the nine course taster menu (it was my
birthday!) and a perfect celebration of the best in Cornish produced
food; scallops, lobster bisque which rated 9.5 on my taste gauge, cod,
beef. and dessert was a little mouthfuls of deliciousness!

Producers
Cornwall just can't help itself when it comes to producing the best
of locally grown food that's possible to find and when I can, I buy nothing
that's wrapped several times in cardboard and plastic. This isn't to
say that I spend too much time sourcing it, as it tends to come to my
door!
NEWLYN FISH. 12.30 every Wednesday, Danny
calls with the back of his little van full of the best of the catch displayed
on ice, much of it caught from day boats off the Cornish shore.
www.newlynfish.co.uk
CLOTTED CREAM, FUDGE, ICE CREAM and everything
scrummy that comes from the milk of free-grazing Jersey cows. The cream;
primrose-yellow, lusciously-rich, divinely dollopy... this isn't just
any clotted cream, this is Roskilly's silky, seductively-smooth Cornish
clotted cream! The ice cream comes in a load of flavours, new for 2009
are jelly berry and rock choc, however, the originals like Honeycombe
Crunch and Tiramisu take some beating. The Croust House opens daily into
the evening and does bbq's in summer months.

CHILDRENS' CLOTHES. A fabulous collection
of groovy kids' clothes made from woven organic cotton. Kurt and Lucy
started their business with the ethic of kindness towards children and
the planet.

After the killer frosts and raping easterly wind that rode like a Valkyrie
through our gardens destroying and pillaging defenceless plants, not
to mention our village flood of almost biblical proportions last summer.
